押し花乾燥マットの扱い方の注意点
乾燥マットは購入して封をあけた時の、状態を良く確かめておいてください。
ぱりっとした感覚があること。マットの中に手を入れた時、あたたかな感覚があるとしっかり乾燥している状態だと言えます。
しんなりしていたり、中に手を入れた時冷たい感覚がすると、それは乾燥が不十分な証拠です。
この乾燥マットを使うと美しい押し花が作れません。
とにかく素早く押し花の水分をとることできれいな押し花ができます。
ガーベラやひまわりなど厚めの押し花ですと、１日くらい良く乾燥されたマットで乾燥させたら、一度乾燥マットを変えてあげると美しい押し花が出来上がります。
乾燥マットにしわが入ったら
何度も乾燥を繰り返していますと、どうしても乾燥マットにしわが入ってしまいます。
薔薇の花びらなど繊細な花を押す場合、しわがお花に影響してしまうのです。
これを避けるためには、マットに入っている紙を取り出し、空気中の水分でマットをしんなりさせてから、新聞紙の上で１枚１枚中温程度のアイロンでしわを伸ばします。
乾燥マットには、乾燥させるための薬品がしみこませてあります。
アイロンの熱で薬品が若干しみ出してしまいます。これを最少限にするには、新聞の写真面の上にマットを載せます。写真面は薬品がしみ込みにくいのです。
そしてその上にまた１枚乾燥マット１枚を載せます。２枚目の乾燥マットから若干流れ出た薬品は１枚目の乾燥マットにしみ込みます。
これを繰り返すことで、薬品のしみ出しが最少限に防ぐことができます。
乾燥マットが増えてきたら
押し花を長く続けていますと、押し花の乾燥マットの数も多くなってくるはずです。
そうしたら、薔薇の花びらなど繊細でしわになりやすいお花の専用のマットを準備しておけば、アイロンで伸ばす手間が省けますよ。
いろいろ工夫して、押し花を手早く押すこつをつかんで下さいね。
